UrbanLink Air Mobility Reports Significant Q2 Achievements Post-Launch

With Entry into Service Expected by Summer 2026, UrbanLink is Poised to be the First Provider of All-Electric Advanced Air Mobility Solutions

MIAMI – July 23, 2024 – UrbanLink Air Mobility LLC (UrbanLink), a pioneering South Florida-based advanced air mobility (AAM) operator, is pleased to share its significant progress made during the second quarter of 2024. This marks the company’s first full quarter of activity following its official launch in May 2024.

"We have made remarkable strides in our first quarter as a company -- from laying the groundwork for our airline and structuring our corporate governance, to preparing for certification and initiating our marketing and sales objectives,” said Ed Wegel, Founder and Chairman of UrbanLink. “Ensuring we have the necessary assets for our operations prior to our first eVTOL delivery has been a key priority. We are excited about the future and will continue to lead the charge to bring smarter, more efficient, and carbon-free transportation systems that enhance connectivity and sustainability to South Florida and beyond.”

With 18 months to go before UrbanLink Air Mobility is set to receive its first Lilium eVTOL jet, the company has achieved the following key milestones in Q2 2024

  • Formal Launch: Placed an order for 20 firm and 20 option Lilium Jets and formally launched UrbanLink Air Mobility at CoMotion Miami 2024 Conference in Miami.

  • President Appointment: Appointed aircraft leasing veteran Raymond Sisson as President to focus on raising capital to finance UrbanLink’s initial order for 20 Lilium Jets and spearhead the creation on an in-house aircraft leasing company to hold UrbanLink’s aircraft orders.

  • Board Recruitment: Recruited a world-class board of directors and advisors with expertise in all areas of airline operations, including network planning, aircraft finance, aircraft performance, governmental relations, and communications and media.

  • Vertiport Agreements: Signed initial agreements with the two established vertiport developers (Ferrovial Vertiports and Skyway Technologies) for the planning and development of vertiports in key markets to support the planned route network.

  • Partnership Development: Started developing partnerships and alliances with ride share and other transportation providers to support the plan for joint marketing, sales and distribution.

  • AI System Development: Commenced development of UrbanLink’s artificial intelligence operating system, Thayer A.I.™, to determine aircraft and crew positioning, forecast surge demand, and provide real time pricing and scheduling changes.

  • Certification Plan: Developed the plan for certifying a Part 135 airline to operate the Lilium Jets, including the initial aircraft for the certification.

“In Q3 we will open our new UrbanLink headquarters, continue our certification process, and launch our first advertising campaign. These campaigns will include our frequent flyer program and collaborative sales programs with ground transport providers. We have a rigorous and detailed plan to be ready for our first aircraft delivery, and our team is now in place to make this happen,” added Wegel.
